Starring You & Starring You Too Reusable Make up Removers.

Starring You & Starring You Too Reusable Make up Removers.

These super cute makeup removers or face scrubbies were created to match the Kylie You're A Star Hand towel that is available on The Calming Yarn blog from November.

The Starring You reusable make up removers use the same textured stitches that I used in the design for the Hand Towel!  It took me a little bit of time to work out exactly how to do a star stitch in the round (it is made of several rows and so I had to work out how to add in the increases) but I love how it turned out!  I think you could add some more rounds and they would also make perfect coasters!

Materials:

  • Fiddlesticks Finch - I used leftover yarn from my Kylie You're A Star Hand Towel.
  • 4.5mm Hook (I used my trusty Tulip Etimo Red)
  • Needle for weaving in ends
  • Scissors
  • Stitch markers

Stitches used and abbreviations (in US terms):

CH - chain

SK - skip stitch

SS - slip stitch

SC - single crochet

BLSC - Back Loop Single Crochet (work in the back loop only)

HDC - half double crochet

DC - double crochet

HDCF - Half Double Crochet Foundation Stitch

Hint: keep you star stitches fairly loose. This will keep the pattern tensioned evenly.

Pattern is completed in the round.  Please note that the pictures are not taken of the work being completed in the round.
