Sunflower for Ukraine

Sunflower for Ukraine

The Sunflower is the National flower of Ukraine and because I wanted to show my support I created this  little sunflower.   I plan to cover my world in Sunflowers to show my support.

The pattern was sent to all Yarn Me Calm email subscribers free on the first day of March, 2022.  However since then I have been asked numerous times for the pattern to be shared more widely, so here it is!

A big thank you to Bek for testing it for me at the last minute (with no notice at all) to make sure what was in my head translated well enough for others!

I used 8 ply brown and mustard 100% brushed cotton yarn for my Sunflower.  Fiddlesticks Wren has a fabulous range of colours to create your Sunflower, you only need a small amount of each colour so you could make several from each ball of yarn.

I used a 3.5mm Tulip Etimo Hook for my Sunflower.

There are a lot of uses for this cute little sunflower, it makes a perfect sized coaster and sits really flat.  You could join them together as you go by joining through the picot, you could use them as an appliqué and more!
