In fact, intarsia is easier with two-colour brioche than it is with stocking stitch or garter stitch! In this class Xandy Peters shows you how to bring the two together for bold, colour-blocked brioche fabric.
You’ll start by reviewing two-colour brioche stitch, then cast on a flat swatch. Using a combination of shaping and intarsia, you’ll knit a wavy colour-blocked swatch. In the second half of the class Xandy shows you how to modify your swatch, how to work it in the round, and how to add intarsia elements to existing brioche patterns.

Requirements:
Must know knit, purl, slip, yarn over, and experience reading written or charted pattern.
What you'll need:
Worsted Weight yarn in two colours. 4mm circular needles or double pointed needles, sharp scissors, notebook, pen or pencil with eraser, stitch markers, tapestry needles large and small, tape measure, small calculator, needles and crochet hooks of various sizes.
About Xandy Peters
Xandy Peters is a knitting designer and teacher, best known as the innovator of the stacked stitch technique and for the Fox Paws pattern. Starting out as a footwear and product designer, he turned to knitting as a way to explore textiles and surfaces without factory production, and has since made a career out of publishing new patterns and teaching workshops.
His designs have appeared in Vogue Knitting, Twist Collective, Knitscene, Knitty and Pom Pom Quarterly, and he teaches stacked stitches in his Craftsy class. Xandy says: “I want to encourage knitters of all levels to use their craft as a form of self expression, to try new techniques, and to share their projects and experiences.”
