In this workshop, you will learn the colour work techniques needed to knit block patterns from Knit the City, including twist placement, carrying floats, next-row trapping and how to troubleshoot any errors. The workshop will include row-by-row guided knitting of one block from either Sydney or London, setting each participant up to begin their own project.

All skill levels from beginner to expert welcome, however some knitting experience is required.

Participants will need:

  • a copy of Knit the City (available from Yarn Me Calm)

  • 2.75-3.00 mm needles, straight or circular (or needles matching the yarn suggested/provided - in some workshops we've used 8-ply, which works well, but some people prefer to follow the specifications in the book) (participants can bring other needles and yarns if they prefer)

  • 4 colours of 4-ply yarn - colour packs are available for the workshop at Yarn Me Calm.

  • Scissors

  • Needle stoppers or a stitch-holder for any unfinished blocks

  • Pen & Paper
