I have always loved Indian block prints. When I found this lovely design I thought it would be perfect to print and stitch into. I’ll be printing these onto colourful woven cottons and then you can stitch into these designs. The workshop emphasis is stitching with hand dyed wools but I will demonstrate the printing in the workshop if you want to try it at home.
There will be different coloured backgrounds for you to choose from.
Join me for a relaxing morning of stitch and colour. I will demonstrate how to use a wooden block print and then you can choose from already printed fabric bases and get started on your stitching.
Using hand dyed wool yarns learn backstitch, lazy daisy, French knots, chain stitch and fly stitch.
Choose your colour palette from my extensive selection of hand dyed yarns.
This is a lovely project which can be framed or made into a pocket, needle case or decorative insert.
All materials will be provided
A little bit about Pauline
I am a textile artist and workshop facilitator based in Mt.Hawthorn, Western Australia, with over 20 years of experience sharing my love of fabric, colour and creative expression.
Working from my welcoming home studio, I create a relaxed and supportive environment where people can step away from the pressures of daily life and immerse themselves in making.
My workshops are designed to be stress-free and accessible—no prior experience is needed, and all materials are thoughtfully provided—allowing participants the freedom to explore their creativity without worrying about outcomes.
In addition to my Perth-based studio, I regularly travel to Melbourne and Sydney to host workshops, connecting with creative communities across Australia.
With an early background in primary education and a career in fashion production, I bring both technical skill and a natural ability to guide and encourage others.
After a decade of creating and selling my own textile work at Perth Upmarket, growing interest in my process led me to begin teaching, and my workshops have been inspiring makers ever since.
I balance gentle guidance with creative freedom, ensuring each participant feels comfortable and confident in their own artistic journey.
