'Kara's Dreams' Granny Square Pattern

'Kara's Dreams' Granny Square Pattern

This gorgeous square is called Kara's Dreams. I recently designed a square for her big sister, Kate - called Something for Kate (another free pattern on The Calming Yarn Blog) and this is a special square just for Kara. Kara told me her fave colours are Red and Orange so they are the primary colours in this design!

When I first shared this pattern Atty's love for crochet told me that it has some similarity to one of her designs, Windmills of my Mind.  Because am a big believer in being open, honest and transparent and I think it is important that people are aware of this similarity. I would also recommend you pop on over to her website as her pattern is beautiful! too https://atty-s.com/2022/07/windmills-of-my-mind-square-free-crochet-pattern.html

I was super lucky that the lovely Christine has tested Kara’s Dreams for me and did a fabulous job!

I can't wait to turn Kara's Dreams and Something For Kate into blankets for both girls.  I will of course share the pattern for the full blankets and maybe even look at running a CAL so watch this space x

Materials:

  • Fiddlesticks Superb 8
    • Colour One - White 70001
    • Colour Two - Rich Red70006
    • Colour Three - Orange 70059
    • Colour Four - Denim Blue 70018
    • A relatively small amount of each colour used, however as I plan to make a blanket with these squares (design will be launched later this year/early in the new year) there will be no waste.

Stitches used UK terms - Intermediate pattern.

This is an intermediate level pattern, knowledge of different stitches is necessary to complete this pattern.

I chose not to use abbreviations in this pattern.  I recently had someone mention to me that they struggle with abbreviations so I thought I would give it a go without them!
